About Me

Mike Kimmey has been in the real estate services business for in the Greater Ft Lauderdale real estate market for 15 successful years and will be here for many more. This longevity and confidence comes from my real estate services to hundreds of buyers and sellers, and their recommendations to others that result in repeat and referral business that keeps me productive and successful.

Mike Kimmey, a founding partner of Tropical Realty Group and a Broker Associate at Coldwell Banker, began his real estate career in Ft Lauderdale over 15 years ago when he relocated from Seattle, WA.  His drive, personality, financial acumen, marketing skills, ethical standards and customer service focus quickly moved him to the forefront of South Florida’s top-producing agents and he is recognized as being among the top 2% of realtors internationally with Coldwell Banker.


In addition to a deep understanding of all aspects of the market, Mike is extremely well versed in all the newly constructed downtown hi-rise developments including, but not limited to, The Symphony, Icon Las Olas, Las Olas River House, Watergarden, Las Olas Grand, 350 Las Olas Place, Nu River Landing, Las Olas on the River, Venezia, Nola Lofts, as well as the new low to mid-rise buildings such as Avenue Lofts, The Foundry Lofts, The Mill, Bamboo Lofts, The Courtyards, Village Lofts, and The Exchange.


Mike’s success as a real estate broker is thanks at least in part to his diverse background.  He spent 10 years in the United States Army as a Captain in the Finance Corps, with most of his service time overseas running international banking and financing operations in Central and South America, and SouthWest Asia.  He also has a Bachelors degree in Business from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Masters in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma.
Mike is committed to his personal and professional community in numerous ways, including as a volunteer counselor for American Fields Services (AFS) supporting outbound foreign exchange students, as a donor of time and money to numerous local charities and events, as a member of  the Broward County Master Broker’s Forum, and as a member of the Ft Lauderdale Community Services Advisory Board.


Mike takes particular pride in his membership in the Broward County Master Broker’s Forum. The Master Broker’s Forum was established in 1993 and comprises an elite membership of the top 250 Real Estate Professionals in Broward and Miami-Dade County.  Membership in The Master Broker’s Forum is by invitation only.  Each member has over $5 million per year in residential sales volume or 50 transactions per year for at least five continuous years.  But most importantly to Mike, each member has conducted themselves and their real estate businesses in the spirit of cooperation with fellow Realtors® and with strict adherence to the National Association of Realtors® Code of Ethics.

As a full service Greater Ft Lauderdale, real estate professional, I work with buyers, sellers and investors in real estate transactions spanning all of the price ranges and property types.

Residential Single Family – My residential single family services connect buyers with sellers every day, and I do it with professionalism and a total dedication to my clients. This property type is the majority of my market transactions, but by far not the only one in which I have expertise.

Condominiums – While condominiums are residential, they’re a very different market focus, and I am an expert in evaluating condos and helping buyers and sellers to cope with the special financing and homeowner concerns for this property type.

Multi–family – Investors are great clients for me. Multi–family properties are a very unique market. The detailed return on investment and valuation calculations investors need to evaluate properties for rental are second nature to me.

Vacant Land – Although there is not a lot of vacant land in the Greater Ft Lauderdale area, it does offer a unique opportunity.  Land is a very special property class. It’s relatively easy to show a gourmet cook a wonderful commercial kitchen in a home and see their eyes light up. It’s more of a challenge to help a buyer or seller to realize the potential in a piece of land. I'm the best at it in Greater Ft Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, Hollywood, Oakland Park, Plantation, and Wilton Manors real estate markets.
